How did you organize your documentation/evidence and how did you hand it over to your lawyer?

As far as things like bank statements and credit card statements, I submitted PDFs to my lawyer. Your bank sould output them. They're easy to skim and you can search within them for a keyword. If you do this, consider two things:

First, password-protect the PDFs. Even if it's just a simple password such as your last name. I realize that's not very secure. But my fear was that my lawyer or her bimbo assistant would just willy-nilly forward everything to the opposing lawyer without looking at it. Having a password in there slows them down, forces them to think about it. This was years before the Alex Jones trial. But at his trial, recall that his own lawyer inadvertently forwarded all kinds of documents to the opposing lawyer without looking at them first. It burned Alex. Not defending Alex; I'm saying his lawyer was an idiot.

Second, this is a dirty trick; may not apply to you. I was stupid when it came to Discovery. I expected everyone to play fair. I had my lawyer forward many PDFs to the opposing lawyer. But, when it was THEIR TURN to disclose documents to me, they printed them out and shipped over a box of paper. It takes a LOT LONGER to sort through paper than a PDF. My lawyer was $400/hr and had to look at each and every page.

As for exhibits and evidence, if you really want to get fancy, you can buy "Exhibit" sticky Post-It Notes on amazon. I used plain old Post-It Notes. But, the idea is: "Here is Exhibit #1, here is Exhibit #2, and so on."

As long as you're organized, I'm sure it goes a long way with your lawyer. God Good, my ex-wife's filing system was a crate stuffed with receipts and printouts, more tangled than old necklaces in a jewelry box. I don't know how that was ever untangled.

I kept everything grouped.

Assets. House information and deed info. Bank accounts. 401k

Debts. Credit cards. Car payments. Mortgage info.

Financial. My pay stubs. Tax returns. W2’s.

Other. My now exwife’s DUI information and court stuff- jail and unpaid fines.
