Here is the video in question (https://youtu.be/U-V_xf2gAiI?si=GIvgxyLrCE1rnp31) while i agree with some of the things she says in the video, i feel this video is flawed in many ways. She spends most of it talking about Incels and not the manosphere at large.

Now, here are my problems with this video

At the beginning of the video, she literally equates the manosphere with the alt right, and says that the manosphere can lead to more dangerous routes of radicalization of men and boys, and can can be seen as a threat to democracy. She also says that no attention has been paid to the radicalization of young men and boys (the left doesnt shut up about this by the way, for good reason) can lead to alt right radicalization

While this is true, to say that these young men are violent threat to democracy isnt helping, as saying that they not only pose a threat to women, they pose a threat to all we hold dear, is doing nothing but saying that these young men are ticking time bombs waiting to usher in a fascist dictatorship

Second thing she does is conflate MRAs, pick up artists and incels together, which are 3 distinct groups, all of which dont like each other, Incels especially.

Now In the next part of the video, she just goes over the stats of isolation for young men and boys we have all seen and heard before, so i dont have a problem with it. However, where she loses me is the idea that all of mens issues stem from patriarchy defining masculinity and femininity as opposites and goes over the stereotypes of masculinity (strong, confident, able, etc) and these traits render men lonely

While i disagree with patriarchy, as a concept, she is sorta right, but these roles are often forced on to men by society at large and are very much desired by women and no matter where they go and what political side they fall on, these roles are required of you, and even in the talks of dismantling "patriarchy", mens gender roles never change and it seems that they are impossible for men to even get a foot in the door of changing the most important gender roles assigned to them (i.e being providers, protecting women, children and society)

She then goes on to essentially say that, these young men rather than blame society at large, (THEY DO,) or rather patriarchy, they are turning their attention to other people, essentally women and minorities, and that they are real victims of feminism, and must turn the clock to the 1950s

while there is some truth, the idea that every man in the manosphere is a hateful bigot, is not only inaccurate, but outright dehumanizing to young men, who might see this video and be warded off ( ill get to this later)

now she accurately describes mens rights activist, a online group of people who talk about the ways that society is biased against men, but she groups them in with PUA, and Incels, Groups who have nothing to do with mens rights activists, and grouping them together is weird to me, cause the groups have literally almost zero overlap with each other

And she is now pulling a tactic from the idea of the Alt right pipeline, and describes it as such to some extent as she says in the video, and essentially describes Elliot Rodger, who wanted to exact revenge on women for no reason

She then goes on to describe the black hole that is Incel ideas and message boards, but here is where i will take a huge issue with this video

She essentially says in an article from The ADL, saying that incels feel entitled to sex, and the idea of "Reverse rape", or the idea of incels being cheated out of sex and love by the sexual marketplace, is just as damaging as real rape (WHICH IS LAUGHABLY STUPID), which isnt what other groups in the manosphere even think. red pill says the sexual marketplace to some extent benefits women.

And MRAs, to my knowledge, Dont talk about that shit at all, and are antogonistic to feminism because feminists unfairly group them with PUA, Red Pillers and Incels, something she does in this video.

and says that the manosphere, but really she is talking about incels, hate feminists but feminists are the ones trying to take down patriarchy, which to some extent isnt true. as the patriarchy doesnt exist like they say it does, and dont really do shit about male gender roles outside of advocate for men to express emotions

she then spends the rest of that time talking about what leftist routinely talk about in regards to incels, and their connections to the alt right and alt right radicalization so i wont discuss it here as that is all we here about in regards to mens issues anyway

and she ends the video describing some solutions, (getting a therapist, getting hobbies, socializing within groups similar to those hobbies, build community, and dont hate women)

So why did i make a post about this video, Because i feel it is indicative of the problems i have with progressive outreach, and how the left speaks to men, they only want to speak to us to tell us how dangerous incels are and the manosphere is toxic af and only offer bare bones solutions that dont actually address the problem. but rather just seeks to tell men or rather their audiences that these groups are toxic as hell, but never offer nothing but barebones advice

and also dismiss mens concerns or criticisms of feminism as misogyny, and grouping 3 groups that have no overlap is a really big hit or miss to me, \

so to make this simple: good video detailing the problem, but no solutions but just the bare minimum "get a hobby" stuff we always here, no addressing any issue relating to anything men are concerned with at all. and equating groups like us with literal fascists, PUA, and incels is a nice touch
