Someone else here posted a story of a falsely accused man that was only released after he and his family spent £500,000 to price his innocence.

The problem is accusations of sexual assault aren’t really innocent until proven guilty, there is often a presumption of guilt that the accused must clear. Depp was assumed by most to be an abuser until he spent a huge amount of money to prove he was defamed. The Duke lacrosse players would have gone to prison for a crime they didn’t commit if their parents didn’t have the money to hire a lawyer who could prove their innocence. Some refer to this as the innocence tax.

I breaks my heart to keep hearing of story after story of men who are treated as guilty and have their lives turned upside down based on unfounded accusations, while the person making unfounded accusations typically gets off Scott free and even has their name protected by police and media.

Why should an innocent man have to go through hell and have his reputation ruined while the woman falsely accusing him gets off with no consequences?

Good luck man I know this can be horrible. Something I’ve notice is whenever men are the victim of something whether it’s a false accusation, an abusive relationship or something else all the stigmas and hatred begins to shine forth. It kinda sucks. Hang in there man.

I’m no professional, but you also probably have ptsd and depression based on your comments. All of which is very common in false accusations. The study below digs into the psychological effects of false accusations.

Sorry to hear that. The problem is, even when a man found not guilty, his life got basically destroyed. There would be many people who will look at him differently, with a hostile attitude.

Know what's crazy to me? The absolute assertion that society gaslights with, "of course we don't believe anyone is inherently better or worse based on their sex, races, orientation ECT", and the certainty of those same people will exploding when posed with the following.

1) do you believe a liar is as bad as a rapist? (Of course not).

2) Then why is it so impossible to wrap your head around the idea that there are at least just as many (in reality almost certainly more) women who lie as there are men that rape if neither sex is inherently better or worse in your eyes?
