TV rape culture acceptance

I recently watched The 100. A very feminist tv series. In one epeisode one of the male characters is kept as prisoner by a female leader. In one of their interactions the leader tells her prisoner she wants sex. The man refuses as hes in a relationship. She tugs the chains keeping him imprisoned and the prisoner says "the things i do to survive". There was hardly any sort of disgust by viewers of this and some people were even defending it saying he wanted it. This same show has shown multiple good men beaten by "good guy" female characters for making them unhappy. They did not face repercussions and there was very little discussion on how this abuse was not okay.

Pretty much any media you watch men are never shown as victims of rape or abuse. Its either men like or theyre meant to handle it. Just cause a guy is holding in his feelings does not mean its okay to carry on hurting him. But alas this is what media will have you think.

No you're right, just watch a TV show and whenever the women do some creepy shit towards young men or teenagers just reverse the roles and tell me if it would be aired

It always has been. Male rape has never been taboo it’s always the same two tropes; it’s ok for a female rapist to rape males if the female is attractive, because if the girl is attractive then it’s not a bad experience for the male. And second, when the female rapist isn’t attractive, it’s ok because it’s comedy. This has always bothered me, especially as I got older because I have two sons. I don’t want them thinking there is no such thing as a female rapist.

I mean it's a very sexually accepted theme in media sadly. You remember that movie for" that's my boy"by Adam Sandler I think, yes the lady went to jail but it was as if it was cultery accepted. But if was the other way around that movie would have ended after 10 minutes. Also the movie 6/10 for me

Rape culture was accepted for both sexes in TV years ago.

It got unaccepted for girls because of feminists.

But they DGAF about boys. And there's just no voice regarding boys so the culture stays.

Agreed. The first thing that comes to mind is season 1 of Bridgerton when Daphne SA’s Simon in an attempt to get pregnant. The show framed it as Simon’s fault because of a misunderstanding about Simon’s fertility and completely ignores the fact that Daphne decided to get revenge for this by assaulting Simon. It’s absolutely disgusting what writers can get away with with a simple reversal of the genders of characters.

Dear Gods it's a joke, get over it. If it makes you feel better George Carlin and Family Guy and Two Broke Girls have plenty of rape jokes about women. Two and A Half Men has a few rape jokes about women too, in including one with/about Doria Baird.
