For a decade after WW2, there were a spate of 'noir' films, all showing how hard working, loving husbands could be bumped off by devious and manipulative women, using a Chad patsy to do the wet work.... Double Indemnity... The Postman Always Rings Twice. Pretty sure there's a theory that these films were inspired by the wartime experiences of servicemen who came back to find themselves dumped.

It was the mid-50s before the studios got the narrative back under control. Hey, men.... women are all like Doris Day! No need to worry....

Men need to smarten up and stop joining the military. There should be a national campaign discouraging men from joining the military and getting caught up in these satanic wars.

I hate this post modern garbage. In this stupid word salad, the author managed to express all these sentiments: - why should breakups like this emotionally hurt men? - why should women have the obligation to write and maintain a relationship from afar - why do men care about fidelity so much - Dear John letters were probably very rare
