Under the age of 21! Their lives had just begun and they were sent to fight at the frontlines. And people have the audacity to say that women are the primary victims of war. A lot of Veterans have already come out against joining the military. Any man with a shred of self respect should not join the military.

The experience that you have gone through is in many ways comparable to what happens with domestic violence. Women have always been the primary victims of war. Women lose their husbands, their fathers, their sons in combat. Women often have to flee from the only homes they have ever known. Women are often the refugees from conflict and sometimes, more frequently in today's warfare, victims.

You bunch of misogynistic pigs. How dare to ignore and silence the TRUE victims of wars? We should turn "Veteran Day" into "Women's eternal pain day".

In 1916 on July 1st, the Newfoundland Regiment, consisting of VOLUNTEERS, and many young boys who were UNDERAGE, went over the trenches just to be mowed down mercilessly. There were 780 men who went out, and only 68 answered roll call the next day. All because countries can’t stand the idea of other countries existing.

Suicide is the second leading cause of veterans under age 45.
Veterans are at a 57% higher risk of suicide than those who haven’t served which is more than 1.5x the national average.
There were 6,146 veteran suicides in 2020 which marked 20 consecutive years of of 6,000+ suicides for veterans.
9% of the veteran population is homeless.

It’s irrelevant to the subject but a week ago I put a small poster about veterans day in the lobby of my appartement and the concierge just put it in the garbage even if she always puts random shit in these walls, people don’t have any consideration for veterans anymore in Canada… It’s sad.
