"we all know men have less to lose"

We all know that?!? That's pretty presumptive. But regardless, if this is truly the public mentality, then we need to ramp up our messaging to our young men that not only will they be expected to sacrifice for the sake of their marriage and potential children, but their efforts will be downplayed and their challenges will not be acknowledged. In other words, they better really want children, and not just because they want to please their spouse or society. 'Cause there just ain't no pleasing either of those.

And, out of curiosity, what DO men have to lose from having children? Off the top of my head

- 18+ years

- the wife could take away kids at any time if she's not happy with the husband, and make it extremely difficult to see the kids

- child and spousal support enforced by the government if the wife does take away the kids

what else can you think of?
