If working with a lawyer, how long does it take for divorce papers to be officially served (WA state)? That is, if I spoke to a lawyer today, could they try to serve papers the next day to get this started? I know that setting a court date, arbitration, etc. can take a long time, but I couldn't find a clear answer on how long it takes for the initial papers to make it through the system and into her hands.

I'm trying to figure out the timing here. I'll be out of the house for a few weeks during Christmas and I wouldn't want her to have the house to herself right after she has been served. Maybe it is better to wait until next year to start the process. However, if it's going to take months before she is even served I might as well get legal representation now.
