Jonathan Majors found his ex-girlfriend overdosed and unconscious in his house in the afternoon. He didn't call an ambulance he called 911 and of course they didn't arrest the drugged out white woman, they arrested the black MAN. The cops even invented a totally fictitious strangulation that never happened. His ex then stole from his house and left the country and the DA refused to prosecute her. Typical: they're more likely to secure convictions by arresting the man, so in order to make numbers cops are always looking for ways to arrest men but not women. Majors was found guilty of pushing her into a car after she hit him so that he could run away from her. Now his career is over and it could have been avoided if he had called an ambulance instead.

After the Jonathan majors verdict, now is a good time to do a PSA for men: AVOID CALLING 911 AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

  • Save your local hospital's ambulance service to your phone! When you call 911 for medical emergencies, they make that call for you AFTER they call in the police. Do yourself a favor and call just the ambulance. Google it now. Save it to your phone. Thank me later.
  • For suicide prevention dial 988. For example: If you have a divorced uncle who's lonely this Christmas and wants to end it all then dial 988 to get professionals whose sole job is to keep suicidal people alive. I don't know why this isn't common sense yet, but somehow people still dial 911 to report suicide risks and then are shocked when nervous trigger-happy people with guns show up... often with predictable results. It's extra deadly for men. Remember, for suicide prevention dial 988.
  • For municipal services call 311. Report housing violations, garbage on the street, rodent problems, even broken street lamps. Granted one of the many municipal services is the police so if you need a police report in order to file an insurance claim then 311 is the number for you.
  • For transport dial 511. Many cities have this set up for anything you may want to report on busses, trains, ferries, and stations. I live in NYC and I can't tell you the number of tourists I overhear asking the police for directions and then they're SHOCKED when they're rudely told to get lost. Those situations can escalate. So be safe and dial 511 instead, folks.
  • For help with health and human services dial 211. So for homelessness, family support, disability services, etc. They'll match you with the local help that you need if you dial 211.
  • Bookmark this page: https://dontcallthepolice.com/ it has lots of other numbers you can call in your area. There are thousands of other pages like this because it's a big problem for a lot of people. Don't wait until after it bites you.
