Double check the legality of video recording in your state. Check whether you're in a one party consent or two party consent state. You could try to get your spouse to consent by "if you have nothing to hide or lie, consenting should be no issue".

This is a good plan for preemptive protection. Read my post history if you don't believe a recording device will keep your ass out of jail for false DV accusations.

I had a car cam and recorded (audio) every in-person interaction with my ex with an app on my cell phone. Recorded every phone call using "Call Recorder Pro" on Android. There are also body cam apps in the Play Store, so as long as you have a pocket your camera can poke out of, that's an easy and cheap solution.

I don't know anyone who wears a dedicated body cam though - my Amazon approach is always to set my budget and find the one with the most (believable) positive reviews.
