Nevermind the exact same logic in reverse was one of the excuses given when it was girls who performed more poorly in classrooms, or were excluded from them. Nah, can't be societal bias. Must be biology. /s

The guy is not a valuable advocate for men. He's a pandering feminist trying to maintain 'men are bad' language, while adding the message 'sad men are worse, we gotta do something', and doing a disservice to men everywhere.

Instead of what should be happening, which is calling out all the feminist bullshit and lies that have built up over the decades, and point out that systematic biases have fucking consequences.

But nah. Reeves takes those biases as pro forma and builds his bullshit reasoning from there. Seriously, fuck this guy. He does not speak for men. And he should damned well stop trying.

...And for what it's worth, men aren't moving more 'right'; the left is moving further away from men. I say this as a diehard liberal, who thinks 'left' barely means liberal anymore, but is an even worse form of bigotry and anti-humanism.

At least "the right" doesn't sell "male tears" coffee mugs. Plenty of left-leaning outlets do, though. Or... same as same as messaging and bigotry.

You tell me why men avoid them...

I saw this data discussed on Twitter and of course it descends into "what is wrong with men".

The true default/neutral position has to be that either gender may be charging, or the stances by either political side may be changing. Of course, like always media decides- straight white man bad. In reality all 4 of those elements are at play and need to be investigated.

Clearly the impact of feminism to society is becoming increasingly extreme. It's socially acceptable to direct hate at straight white men, while it's not socially acceptable to discuss discrimination towards men.

How do these people not see the environment that young men walk into: - They've just finished an education system that heavily favours women - They are told their sexuality is toxic constantly. The sexual drive young men have immense and they are forced to repress - A woman holds the power of using their word to destroy a man now we've regressed from evidence and to mob mentality (somehow seen as progressive) - They are actively discriminated against in the job market - Meanwhile young men are disproportionately killing themselves and literally nobody cares. If it was the other way around, it would literally be the biggest gendered talking point

These are young men who do not yield power or social status. They can't openly discuss any of this without being labelled an incel misogynist- while again it's socially fine to be an extreme man hating feminist.

Every generation of female raises her daughters to be even more feminist. They tell them men are predators for existing and that they were oppressed even if they marrried wealthy and were pampered. Few mothers today experienced the kind of sexism that existed pre 1980's. So these young girls are born with this indoctrination and a chip on their shoulder. They want more for women even thoguh girls today are born with more privilege and opportunity.

Boys find their political home later than girls. I believe this is part of why there a gap in voter turn out.

Also it’s crazy society is socializing men to lean right and women to lean left further dividing us.

I mean I understand why it happens the left favors feminism which favors women and hates men. The right is anti feminist but it hates men in different ways by pushing marriage and the army neither of which have fair outcomes for men.

My point being, I see why women favor the left and why men favor the right but you have to ask why are the political ideologies designed this way to create a divide.

This guy has been on my radar for a minute now, and I believe he really is some kind of controlled opposition. Besides his books, he has financial interest to tow the line, and will never discuss ideas/philosophies to bring upon institutional change. The article noted that in 1958 Arthur Schlesinger in an essay titled “The Crisis of American Masculinity” wrote 'It is good for men as well as for women that women have been set free'

The article states that this is obviously more true today, and it is unhelpful to suggest that we can turn back the tide. Given the leftist orgins of the authors, they attribute this retrospective approach to conservatives. This is a pointless attribution in terms of addressing men's rights (both left and right are equally neglecting men and boys), and avoid the question of when we will set men and boys free.

But it has never been demonstrated that the liberation of women has had any benefits for men and boys who contiinue to live under the yoke of the strict gender roles society force on them. When will the strict gender roles demanded by the left, the right, and particularly the feminist mobs, be broken down and men and boys set free from the burdens imposed on them by these paracites.

The article proposes that men and boys simply give up, and be compliant with whatever roles are demanded of them. This is not a solution. Its a demand for surrender of autonomy, a call to slavery.

I've been saying it, here and in other places, for years. I don't want to see (for instance) a Trump presidency. But if extremist social justice (which has little to do with justice) wants to see a Trump presidency, it's doing everything it can to make one happen by pushing people away from a moderate point of view.

There is a rather smug idea that using claims of social justice as a platform for political revenge by proxy is something that people can get away with doing indefinitely, that it's a victimless crime. Many people seem to believe that they can disadvantage men for being men and white people for being white people, that they can lecture people on what haircuts are permitted to what races, and it will be fine forever.

It won't. People will not put up with being treated like that, especially when they've spent a lifetime supporting people's right to being treated fairly. In the end it's going to come back to bite the people who do it, and I fear it will bite everyone in the same way, potentially undoing decades of progress in ensuring people are treated fairly.

If there is a single great tragedy of extremist social justice in general, it is this.

I wouldn't say they're all heading right, just getting less interested in general. As society keeps heading left, the line follows them so what was once liberal ten years ago is now right wing.
