Yes! Finding happiness really seems to come from getting back to the basics. For me, this was exercise and getting off of my phone.
I started taking a 16 week dance class after never doing exercise for like my whole life. It transformed me! Now I am taking kickboxing and I feel so much happier and confident. I am comfortable with my body. I am working out for an hour 3-4 times a week.
I deleted social media because it was a trap and have picked up reading again. I’ve read some great stuff lately, included the Dune series and a Warhammer 40k novel. Great stuff. Now I bring my book with me to places and read that while I am waiting for the doctor/in between places/etc.
Keeping up friendly relationships is difficult when you lose those apps. But it also shows you who in your life is real friend and will make the effort to be with you irl.

I’m happy that that’s working for you. I’ve honestly had the biggest ROI from making sleep, fitness, and eating well a priority, along with hobbies and friends. It really is the basics that matter the most.

Thank you! Don’t get me wrong, modern society and technology has so many advantages and has caused a lot of improvements, but nothing beats taking care of yourself and your body.

Pornography, drugs, alcohol, caffeine. Many more to add to this list.
They’re all a way of deferring living in the moment and dealing with the right now. The problem is that you always have to pay them back with interest, and that interest sucks!

Ayyy +1 for naming caffeine. Shit numbs you out to what’s important mentally beyond the terrible physical effects

Idk man. Not sure what caffeine does to you, but I literally can not function without it, but I have ADHD lol

Tinder, Bumble etc. didn't just destroy dating.
They destroyed male, female relationships.

Real life won't let me kill people for fun so video games it is, and also "calories for nutrients"??? very different things, calorie is just a metric for measuring energy. How does calories replace nutrition? Yes, you need to consume nutritional food rather than counting calories of a burger but calories are not a bad thing.
