Because the word means something different in both contexts. Outside bed a slut is a woman, who is easy to get and not able to hold a meaningful long-term relationship. In bed it means a woman, who enjoys doing "naughty" stuff.

Woman here. Being called a slut outside of the bedroom is, 99% of the time, intended to be insulting. A person is usually trying to hurt the woman by insinuating that she has no self respect, dignity, grace... that she is addicted to attention from others.
Now, in bed, there are of course kinky people who are aroused by being disrespected. And so being insulted in bed is welcome.
But there's also another angle here. In bed, slut can be used appreciatively, as a compliment to mean fun, adventurous, sexy. Lots of women would love to hear, "your slutty pussy is so wet" said with admiration and excitement.

Now, because women are humans with a variety of preferences and not cardboard cut outs with one hive mind, its probably best to avoid these potentially mood killing words for quick hookups.
