Get involved with a local service organization or two. You'll be welcomed with open arms and you'll have some lifelong friends in no time.

Bonus: You'll do some good deeds along the way.

I found a comedy club. It completely changed my life. I was driving around in circles doing drugs and being sad and i literally saw the light, and a few people who looked kinda like me slouching around out front smoking cigarettes.

They had an open mic, I told a few half-jokes about how sad and fucked up I was, and less than a year later I have a social circle for the first time in over a decade. A handful of close friends who come over and hang out with me, and a couple dozen casual acquaintances that I see regularly and am friendly with. It’s been a dream come true.

I've actually found my standards have changed upward as I've crested 30. If she is around my age, I won't even bother gaming or putting forth any effort unless she is at my level of attractiveness....which rules out 80% of Western women. It's tough (and humbling) when you have to go backward in quality to get bangs. Concur though that significantly younger women get some latitude in the looks department as compared to same-aged women

Work. Went fishing with some coworkers today. BBQ last week. I'm usually inside all the time this whole weekend I've been out partying. Even went to a bar and had a beer. (I don't drink beer, but it was free and handed to me)

If there is a local gym,, go there. And concerts are nice, go with some of your new friends. Different festivals your community may have. The library, many places to meet and greet. But you probably have to make the first move. And doing so, you built confidence in your self. Good luck
