So I'm sure we've all accumulated lots of ghosts in our phones, people who just stopped responding. My strategy is double text them maybe once and then stop. Messages a few days or a week apart at least.

So I was setting up my weekend dates this week and feeling too lazy to hit the apps and decided to message all the ghosts in my phone instead. Most of them i havent messaged in months. Wasn't really expecting any responses, but it costs nothing to try right?

Well I actually did get several responses. Maybe they will ghost again, but maybe not. I feel good about it. Why? because it costs me nothing. even if they ghost all i've lost is about 2 seconds to send them a copy/paste message i sent everyone else anyways. but potentially they wont ghost.

The lesson; dont be afraid to give people space. Don't be afraid to come back to them later. Don't burn bridges. If you handle ghosting by screaming and blocking them you've lost future opportunities, and potentially hurt your reputation too in the event you bump into them or they happen to know one of your friends.

By being patient and accepting rejection gracefully you have a much better chance to turn that rejection around. That goes for 'hard' rejections too, but also for soft rejections like ghosting.
