I found it quite amusing to see how much of what I studied did not get applied in the real world application of a date.

I met up with an on line dating match who had shown great interest. I didn't text/ pen pal her much beforehand other than a few exchanges in the beginning to build comfort and then went for the date close. She was excited.

I'd say she was a 7/10, 30 year old blonde with blue eyes, about 5'6" and body on point. She works in a hospital as a clinical pharmacist.

We met at a local Turkish café for tea. The first thing I did was hug her to establish touch, textbook guidelines. Found us a table in the corner and I ordered a pot for us to share. I made sure to lean back and stay cool taking up space. So far so good.

Then I began to talk and our conversation was great (at least in my head) but then it dawned on me.. I'm doing most of the talking. The conversation topics aren't escalating in sexual nature, where is the sexual tension? Where's the flirting? Where's the subtle touching? Other than the comment I gave her on her piercing blue eyes, this encounter was feeling platonic.

My original intentions were to let her do 80% of the talking while escalating the conversation sexually, give her push-pulls, teases and touches but that fell to the wayside as my natural habit to avoid awkward silence and talk about myself kicked in. Bad habits die hard.

I set the hard stop saying I needed to leave in 15 minutes, somewhat graceful / high value end to the interaction. We left the café and we hugged and I kissed her on the lips. It felt unnatural and out of place but she kissed back. So much for being smooth...

We went our separate ways and I shot her a text related to something we talked about and we're continuing to talk.

I'll try setting up another date with her as well as setting up dates with other girls and focus harder on my training.
