Met a girl at a friends party last Saturday and we hit it off doing karaoke together all night. Left together and made out in uber before dropping her off. She gave me her number and said if you want to come up you'll have to take me on a date first. So setup a date for tonight. Been lightly conversing over text the last few days, making sure I'm not overly available but have had some fun playful back and forth. Confirmed everything earlier today. Then hour and a half before date told her I would pick her up on the way (she's in walking distance but it's rainy today) and she responeded "cool, see you at 8."

5 min later she sends this "Soooo I have to be honest. As dinner approaches, I'm feeling more and more guilty. I've been seeing someone casually for a little and I don't think it would be fair to him if I went to dinner."

I just responded ok and left it at that. Did I respond correctly and what is my next move. Soft next, hard next? Not sure.
