I have been slowly killing my anxiety about approaching people (or have become so dead inside through rejection I don't care as much anymore) and have reached a volume of about 40 approaches a month. These are all via extended social circle and at social events and so should be much easier and with less stigma than cold approaches.

So far I have one number that was given to me by a girl who actually just wanted to pitch some marketing campaign at me, and one girl who added me to her social media who has since left the country and was extremely drunk at the time. No actual date prospects or anything beyond this.

Almost all of these interactions are fizzling out in the first 3 sentences or so which seems unusual in a 'warm' setting because I regularly see guys spending all night talking to a particular girl they meet and exchanging numbers, in fact I seem to be the odd one out in not being able to do this.

So my question is: Is this a normal trajectory? Is it just a case of continuing at this for months/years until getting anything? Its kind of hard to see what I'm doing wrong considering most of my interactions aren't even lasting more than a few sentences before she leaves/clearly becomes uninterested.
