The purpose of a shit test is to see how someone handles not getting their way, being given a boundary, experiencing an inconvenience, etc. People who think a shit test is about being disrespectful to someone tend to be people who fail actual shit tests. So it's important to know the difference.

An example of an actual shit test is being 5 minutes late but offering a quick apology. Did the person get irrationally pissed off over 5 minutes? Did they start blowing up your phone? Do they start interrogating you about why you were late?

It's just little ways to try to filter out total psychos earlier on when possible. Again the key is understanding what a shit test actually is and what purpose it serves. If you get it wrong and just act like an asshole it will absolutely backfire.

I’m disappointed in the comments here. Shit tests ABSOLUTELY exists. It usually comes from a place of insecurity from the girl because she’s afraid that you’ll hurt her. A prime example of this is when you flirt with a girl and she says “you’re a player, aren’t you?” or “I bet you say that to all the girls”. It 100% comes from a place of insecurity in the girl.

I only do this sort of thing when I am irritated at a disrespectful behavior.

For example. My FWB is a ski nut. So she’s been extra flaky the last month and I’m an athlete myself with my own interests so I let it ride and don’t sweat it.

But lately she keeps driving me nuts about needing to see and hang with our friends and get together and she misses me, yada yada. So Friday she messages me what’s up how am I doing etc. I say great I’ve been sick but feeling better and I’m hosting the group dinner then we are having a party at our mutual friends house. I get “awesome have a fun time!”

So I go about my business and I’m at the dinner when I get a text “Hey are you still at (restaurant)?” “ I’m going to come out tonight. Just checking because I can Uber but if you don’t mind picking me up?”

See I normally might say “ah come on out” or whatever in the earlier exchange but I realized it was time to make her out up or shut up (normal stuff here) and the way to do that was to just let her sit on it and get herself worked up. Part of it is also that I know she is socially anxious and needs to work herself up. She WANTS to be there. She absolutely wants to be with me. But she has to figure that out.

So really more than shit rest it’s kind of a push to help her figure out her own stuff.

Shit tests don't exist. When a woman says "no" it ussually just means no. And when a woman is being disrepectfull it's just her being disrespectfull, they ain't "testing" you.
