Is this a first solo hangout? Ice cream isn't normally a date so I can see how she would be confused on your intentions and invite her friend along.

Idk been there done that. I out with a girls I asked out freinds, they expected me to pay all the tab on anything we did. Back then I didn care because I was thinking with my other head. Now looking back I just should have spoken up.

Do not go out with her freinds because you don't know how their nature is!! They may become barrier in between if their nature is not good. First go out with her, i am pretty sure there may be some awkward and embarassing moments but it will be fine. I think even second time you should go alone with her, when your freindship will be good then you can go with her friends. Many a times a freind is not freind. You said that you dont know them very well so yeah...

Unpopular comment here, but I would seriously consider it:

sure, you're attracted to this girl. but, where there's one attractive girl, her friends may be cute too.

I've met one girl only to meet her friends and be more interested in them. From that point, I actually started going out with their friend group, and had way more options than just the original girl. it's pretty special having a group of female friends.

what if you think of this as an opportunity to invest in more girls in your life, even if they're all friends for now, since they may end up wanting you, fighting over you, or raising your external value when you're out together?

you just gotta be fun with yourself here, and adopt that classic abundance mindset, if you want to do it that way :)
