Personally I would just move on dude. Even if y’all were dating and it was good, most people I know broke up during their first semester of college. I think it’s better to end it now and just move on. I know you don’t think it but there will be multiple other girls that make you feel the way she does. You’re only 18 and you’ll meet plenty of others.

I'm a year younger, but I was in a exactly same situation as you rn and tought I found "the one". I made mistake by not making a first move. My advice to you is either move on or, as your friends said, to wait a month and see what happens.

Whatever turns out at the end, you will have one valuable experience, and will know how to act in situatiaons like this in future.

As someone who’s your age and also pretty sensitive when it comes to things like this, I can promise you that you didn’t make yourself ‘too available’. There’s a difference between being clingy and being a good friend.

It sounds like she was just using you for emotional support or something like that. She’s not your soulmate, we’re still young and I know you’ve heard this before, but there’s plenty of fish in the sea. Remember to find someone who appreciates your values rather than someone who disposed of you once they don’t need you anymore.

There is no “one” and the likelihood is even if it works out with this girl you’ll eventually break up and start another relationship later on with the same intensity, rinse and repeat.

This isn’t a Disney story, it’s life, and in life you’ll have a huge number of people you can connect with and holding onto the idea of a soulmate will hold you back.
