So I approached this girl (20f) I'm 18m, asked for her name yada yada and found out she has a boyfriend, i politely said oh sorry and walked away

Meanwhile, her friend that was sitting in front of her, started laughing out of control and recorded me with her phone. Why? What did I do wrong? I will probably now be made fun of, even tho this is my second ever approach?????

How do you guys approach when she is with her, I'm going to use the term because it's the most suitable here, idiotic friends?
