The way I see it, you have three choices: (1) bust on them for third-wheeling you and then steer the discussion elsewhere, (2) engage the conversation either by participating or by asking questions, or (3) fuck with your cell phone until they come back to topics you enjoy.

But I mean, most women like a guy with savvy. If Hedi Slimane were to walk into the bar and hit on them, they wouldn't be like "sorry, you're way too feminine for me."

Talk about something else? A female friend of mine would do this just to annoy me because she knew I couldn't give two fucks about shoes. She was really just tired of me being silent, or getting back at me for making fun of her, she wanted me to take control of the conversation.

If you sit quiet with an uncomfortable/poker face look, they will get it. Do not be a jerk but just sit there and not contribute to the girly drama/period talk. I have done this and it works. They will eventually engage you to join the conversation. That is when you can bring up a real topic.

Edit: Getting up and walking away is acceptable. Girls just want to talk sometimes and it will go better without you there for 5 min.
