My man, you’re in luck. Unlike an airport, you’ll have a chance to see this girl more than once and slowly develop your relationship with her.

First, I’d recommend sitting next to her (if you don’t have assigned seating). Start there if the idea of talking to her seems too intimidating. That first time, if you up to it, break the conversation barrier by just asking if the seat next to her is free.

From there, stick out your hand and introduce yourself to her. If she’s a halfway socially competent human, she’ll share her name with you. Don’t freak out. You don’t have to launch into an intense conversation immediately during this first interaction. But commit her name to memory. Ask her something simple: what’s her major? Make an observation: perhaps about the professor or coursework. This will give her something to work with. It’s your job to facilitate the conversation early in your interaction with her.

After the initial chitchat about university, which should be plenty of material , start to peel back her layers. Remember FORD (Family/Friends, Occupation/School, Recreation, and Dreams). Avoid yes/no questions at all costs. Open ended questions are your friends here.

I’ll pause here and let someone else tell you more about how to turn those initial interactions into a date (avoiding friend zone, kino, shit tests, etc).

What you say really doesn't matter at all. Even a comment about grass growing can start a really good conversation.

Just go meet her, and try to be her friend. Yes, friend! Friendzone is just a euphemism for rejection (As "I just see you as a friend", the classic euphemism for "Fuck off! I ain't goin' out with ya"). Friendship =/= rejection.^stop ^confusing ^those ^y'all

After all, you've got to know her better before opening up, and she has to, too! She might not turn out to be such a nice person as you imagined, after all. Just never open up too soon! It's a very common mistake.

And if everything goes well try to get her number in 2 or 3 days and text her the same night. Never ever open up yet!
If it doesn't, abort the mission and never talk to her again unless actually necessary.

Then 1 or 2 days after starting texting, ask her to meet outside. Doesn't have to be a flashy thing. Just for a cup of tea or coffee. If you two have that chemistry, everything else will happen naturally, if you do the kino. If you don't, try for another date.

People overthink approaching so fucking much. Walk up and say something - anything, literally whatever comes to mind. You're probably going to fuck up hard, but that's okay as long as you learn from it and keep trying.

If you don't know how to start a conversation with someone you share a class with, life is going to be hard for you because that's about as easy as it gets. Start cold approaching people, once you get good at that, this will be fucking cake.

Ask about the class as an opener and then go into whatever. (Set up a hangout later if she's into it.) usually you'll get her number/Facebook if she isn't taken (though depends and sometimes they are taken)
