Ok, so as of late, I've felt like I've been in a lull... been feeling down, not approaching women, etc.

Then it hit me. I haven't been challenging myself in life lately. I've been doing my fucking comfortable routine, just hanging out, and being "safe". Fuck that noise.

The Dangers of Being Safe

Yes, it's an oxymoron, but being "safe" is one of the most harmful things you can do to yourself. You miss out on a world of fun and experience. You wind up falling into complacency, and by doing that it affects all areas of your life, dragging you down shaking your confidence. This is what has been happening to me, and I need to kill it immediately.

New Goal Set

I decided that every single day, I am going to do at least one thing that is outside my comfort zone and makes me a little bit nervous. Whether it be approaching a cute girl, whether it be going out solo, or whether it be something else completely random.

Tonight for example, I had a softball game. The team after me needed a sub temporarily as one of their guys were running late and asked me to play. I happily said yes and I almost put myself in some boring spot that didn't get any action in fear of fucking up in front of all these new people. Then I thought "nycprowl, you're good at this game. Fucking act like it" so I went to my normal position and rocked the fuck out of it.

By the time the other player came, the players were whispering to me to stay and to alternate with this guy, since I was better. I decided that I wanted to head out to the bar solo instead (also out of my zone). I did just that, and wound up having a lovely hour long conversation with a pretty cool girl.

Depending on how I'm feeling tonight I may head out to a dance party solo. We'll see. I haven't decided if I'm up for it yet or not.

Challenge

I challenge each one of you sedditors who feel like they've been in a lull lately to do something daily outside of your comfort zone. Not only will it make you feel better about yourself, you'll have some awesome times. Afraid to go out alone? FUCKING DO IT. See a cute girl but afraid it's going to be awkward? EMBRACE THE AWKWARDNESS. Want to travel but afraid of the different culture? GO ANYWAY.

Don't try to reject the fear... acknowledge it, embrace it, and conquer that shit. There is nothing cowardly about being afraid, it's when you let the fear control your actions is when it's a problem. Fear is there for a reason, and it's for survival. However there is a big difference of being afraid to jumping into a pit of tigers and going out to a bar solo. Or dousing yourself in gasoline, setting yourself on fire (outside of most's comfort zone I'd say) and going to visit another country. I think you get the idea.

TL;DR: SCREW YOUR COMFORT ZONE.
