I usually go to language exchanges every Tues, Weds, Thurs and today was no different. Usually it is a great opportunity to practice Spanish and pick up at the same time.

Today I arrived early and watched the end of a football match. After it was done I walked to the area of the bar where people had gathered and immediately opened a two set. One girl was really into talking to me and I was seeing high levels of attraction. Then a tall manly German woman barges in since I am the English speaker and she wants to practice. Soon after her boring husband appears and they don't pause for even one second with an onslaught of interview style questions. The girl must have been interested in me because she stuck around even when her friend tried to save her and I could tell whenever I managed to get a word in to her she wanted to talk with me.

Finally the German lady had to leave and I thought I was in the clear. Then a mid-forties Spanish guy walks up. He drags me into a conversation on the history of Spain and the girl actually stays as long as she can until her friend finally convinces her to leave. I'm pissed at this point. Fair enough, the dude is a reporter and he is obviously well versed in Spanish history. He speaks impeccable Spanish and it is good practice when he does so. But he goes on and on. He doesn't stop. I am watching HB after HB walk by but whenever I try and talk to anyone he drives them away like a bad smell. My wing brings over 2 girls and gets me into a conversation with them but again, he drives them away.

I finally excuse myself to get a drink and when I turn around from the bar - there he is. He is following me around. My mood deteriorates and I finally put on my coat and say "see you later". He says "see you next week". Fuck me.

Here I am answering questions on seddit like I'm some guru but I'm getting blocked from every side all of a sudden. I wouldn't be so pissed if I wasn't opening so well. I need advice on this. How do I ditch a boring cock-block that will not leave me alone?
