How do you avoid the boring text conversations?

I guess I'd say the following: -Don't text excessively in the first place. -Keep it light and funny. -If the person likes you, they will carry the conversation as well. If the person doesn't like you, its going to get dull.

-Kill the conversation before it gets boring.

Not trying to be an asshole, but I don't understand posts like this. It's like seddit convention wisdom 101 that you shouldn't be having long texts conversations with girls. Why are people still asking them? Is the FAQ not good? Is the beginner's guide not adequate? I mean, the whole point of asking questions is so get thoughts on shit that isn't already obvious.

Ehh, I don't really get the whole "only use texting for logistics" rule of thumb. I think it's definitely a useful consideration, especially for chronic over-texters, as I used to be.

I got a lot better at "text game" by keeping things minimal, but then I noticed that some chicks really like texting, and you can keep banter going without coming off as too needy.

Obviously it depends on the girl you're talking to, but I've found that just making absurd shit up about yourself really works as long as they know you're pretending to be full of shit. Before a first date recently, I said "I might have to leave suddenly now that the KGB is after me." (There was context to this, I didn't just throw that out there). Made her laugh and gave us a fun little game to play while we were out (Spot the KGB Agent).
