Dude, I find myself wondering this a lot. Not only outdoorsy, but my other hobbies are...strange and not very popular.(I enjoy rebuilding and restoring antique and vintage small engines, I'm an avid railfan, urban explorer, and, I enjoy exploring uninhabited woodlands). How the hell am I supposed to meet anyone like this?

I too love climbing and skiing, not so much cycling. More of a hiking and campout guy. I think the best thing someone who loves the outdoor can do for a girl though, is to just share or teach that passion to the girl. This can apply to any sort of hobby or thing that someone loves. Girls like men who are confident, and passionate, so take them to an environment where you are both these things, it doesn't matter if they are. Just show them your a serious guy. Who knows you might introduce someone to the beauty of the outdoors.

Indoor climbing is the fucking easiest place in the world for pickup. Start going. Find a girl with a harness and ask her if the wants to do some top-roping.

i wasn't into outdoorsy shit when i met my boyfriend. just wanting to be with him made me an outdoorsy person. he took me on a european bike tour a couple years after we met (in college) and that was the first time i camped EVER at like 21. now we kayak to isolated spots and camp in the summer. currently we're hiking adirondack high peaks in the winter.

We talk about trying to meet outdoorsy people just to come along with us and they're hard to find. Most of our friends are in to live music and a handfull of them will come along for adventures.

i would look for groups in your area. start posting on message boards, maybe like summitpost.org or try local ski groups? Theres some bunnies out there. Good luck.

Your local Sierra Club chapter has outdoor events, e.g. hiking, for singles. They are very popular where I live.
