I love Prince, have for a long time, in fact I was going through some old stuff of mine and saw a high school Spanish folder where I had drawn the Prince symbol on it. One of my biggest musical influences of ever, and his swag is enviable by everyone. I've always identified with his freak sexuality more than any Don Draper of the world.

In a very, very strange coincidence, the OP and I (who do not know each other) stumbled upon the fact that we were both at this same party. Very small world.

I can attest that he was very popular. My thoughts upon seeing him (he definitely stuck out) was "That guys looks like he's having fun". He had a good crowd of ladies around him on the dancefloor. There were SO MANY guys just hanging around looking awkward. OP was not one of them.

"Under the Cherry Moon" should be required viewing for any guy. It got horrible reviews when it came out, but it's really entertaining as a kind of cult piece. It's the story of a guy (Prince) who makes a living out of pursuing women. Prince definitely knows how to work it. You get the feeling that no look, word or body language is accidental. He knows what he's doing.

i see what you mean though, and i agree. pickup at its finest is an attitude, not a set of moves.
