So, I'm at PetSmart picking up some food and chew toys for my dog and this cute blond HB8 is brought over to my aisle by one of the employees because she was looking for chew treats. Obviously she hadn't been in the store before.

I mosey over towards her way and I ask "Can't decide on a chew treat, huh?" She said "yeah, what I usually give my dog, she goes through them so quickly..."

So, I reached for a knuckle w/ meat inside and put it in her hands, making sure my hand lands in hers for some light kino and said "Here. These are great, they last a long time". She's smiling and says "okay". I reach for a bag of pig ears and put that on top of the knuckle. I maybe put four or five different things in her hands and she's obviously flabberghasted by having this mass of stuff in her arms so suddenly, she's smiling big and laughing.

I laugh and say, "no, I'm only kidding." and I start helping her put the stuff back. So, we start having a conversation about our dogs, she tells me she rescued her dog from the shelter and is only 4 months old.

I ask her if she's gone to this dog park yet and she said "no, because the vet told her she had to wait. So, I started talking about how awesome it is and my dog loves it (she says the vet said she can't go to the dog park just yet, because her dog hasnt gotten all it's shots yet) and she asks me what kind of dog I have/how old she is/where I got her. So I pull out my phone, pull up her picture and hand it to her. She awws over the picture and we continue to chat.

I ask her if she's trained yet and she explains that she's just about house trained, except for one spot on the carpet the dog likes to pee on occasion. So I laugh and say "that's not really something you wanna tell a guy, 'hey, my carpet smells like dog pee'" and she responds with "Well, I dont have any guys coming over to my house, so it's not a problem".

We chat a bit more about chew treats and other dog-related topics, and I eventually ask her for her name, she gives it to me and I say "Alright, HB8, let me get your number and we'll set up a little playdate" so, she gives me her number and I call it so she has my number and I say "okay, I'm going to put you in here as HB8 Petsmart". I gotta get going, it was nice to meet you. She laughs and says okay. So, I call it while I'm walking away and give her my number.

I'm going to text her in a couple hours and ask her "if her dog enjoyed the knuckle and say it was nice meeting her - Geaux"

So, things I did good: opened an HB8 - the cutest girl I've ever opened. Found out she's single. Engaged her on a topic she was interested in (her dog). Light kino with the hand thing (and I made sure our shoulders were touching when I went into look at her phone for her dog picture). Closed the number.

Things I did bad - I missed an opportunity for a laugh by just saying "there ya go" and joke like I was going to just leave her there with a pile of treats in her hands. I didn't escalate kino enough. I should have put my hand on her back when I went in to look at her dog picture. I didn't steer the conversation towards her directly (she mentioned about still being on her parents insurance so that would open up dialogue about her living with her parents, going to school, etc). I lingered too much on the dog issue and went back to mentioning my favorite treat. And I'm not 100% sure I introduced myself when I got her name. haha

So, give me your suggestions on what I did, could have done and what I should do in the near future.

I am kinda curious about what kind of thing I can invite her to do to spend time with me, since I went with the "playdate" idea, but I know she can't go to the dog park for a while... Suggestions?
