Avoid conversations about her ex-boyfriend or her sad feelings. If she brings them up simply tell her, "Stop. When you're with me, we have fun." If you listen to her problems, you automatically get friend-zoned.

I also suggest you plan a date or a fun evening out. If you meet at a bar, tell her you've got a few other things planned and take her to those places. Get her out of the mindset that this is a pity party and actually show her a good time.

Well you probably don't need to worry about getting friendzoned because she wants to use you as her rebound. If you are okay with that, then do it (not when she is hammered). Do not tease her about the fact that she is using you as a rebound, think about what she would say in response. Don't worry about conversation, she will have plenty to say. Just ensure that you have a few topics other than her ex or you will be bored as sin. You are her shoulder to cry on and probably her sex to rely on for comfort. I personally wouldn't do it, but I suppose it all depends on how badly you want to get laid.

Interesting sidenote... it is very possible that an upset girl at a bar will be a magnet for other concerned women. Maybe you should take the chivalrous path and bang one of them.
