When talking to a girl over the phone over something more formal (like to arrange a meeting or something for school work w/e) how can you start basic flirting?

The only thing I can come up with is "Are you also going to activity/party X?" and then perhaps try to take it from there. But what are some tips on flirting on the phone? Going from just formal talk to more joyfull things?
