Hey guys,

Not sure if this goes here, but figure you guys can help. I am a senior in college who has never really had luck with girls (mostly because I am shy and lack confidence I think, worry too much). Anyway there is this girl that I have known since freshman year and have always kind of had a thing for, but never asked out. I know that you guys will rip me for that which is totally understandable.

Well now I want to man up and ask her out but don't know how to go about doing it (never been on a real date before). I have her # and am fb friends with her but don't know if it would be weird for me to just start talking to her and ask her out out of nowhere. Now there was this group event we were supposed to both be at a like 2 weeks ago and I had talked to her before it and she said she was going, then she didn't. I could use that as a conversation starter but idk if it happened too long ago.

I'm thinking about asking her out to something simple like drinks or something. I have heard advice that I should ask one of her friends (who I also know) if the girl would want to go with me so it's not as out of the blue, would that be a good idea? Any advice appreciated!

EDIT- Thanks for the advice guys, all good. I am newer here actually and didn't see the sidebar so I will check it out for sure
