See a tattoo, ask about it. I use this on everybody and its not necessarily for pickup.

A majority of the time really deep diving conversations follow about people or things that were really important to the wearers of the tattoo. I've built some crazy rapport with a older gentleman cashier at a local CVS because of this.

If they say "oh I just thought it was pretty" followup with "it is nice, what do you like the best about it?".
