Thought I'd do a FR because some guy called out the lack of FR's on seddit these days. He's right. FR all the things!

Networking event tonight. Full of young professionals. Usually I run entourage game at events like this but wanted to try and build sexual tension as fast as possible tonight. Mixed results. I think this is my hangup.

Nights like this are almost cheating because approaching people is just something you do.

Start the night out small. Meet up with a girl I kclosed a while back and then she threw up an armarda of ships with red flags one time, serious crazy. Next'ed her but kept as a friend. She is a social connector, have to keep her close. She is a legitimately awesome person so this is easy. Build up some momentum with her and her friends.

Run into an AFC I know. He asks if I'm still dating X because he saw me with Y and Z. Starts asking me how I meet so many women and why I'm with a different one all the time. I banter for a little bit and then flee at the first opportunity. Can't have these guys following me around, they blow up sets like Mythbusters blow up barns.

First set is a group 2set of a cute girl and a guy. Guy looks boyfriendish, don't care. Open with something nonsensical about the event and the walls being a cool color brick. Introductions go around. Not feeling her. Bounce! Some girls are just boring.

2nd set is a 2 set of two girls that have been talking with each other the whole night. Open with I don't even know from the side. Comment on how they've been talking with only each other. Bust them for not being friendly. Target isn't hooking but friend is. I posture them so I'm against the bar and they are talking to me, they are the ones "hooked in" ( wish I had the link for this technique, basically its so they look like they are the ones talking to you, not the other way around ). Keep talking to friend, call them cute and they go shit test frenzy. Act like I don't care what they are saying. "What you go to these to hit on girls?" Me: "Yeah" "Cute is unoriginal" Me: "I know". Notice targets engagement ring. Friend keeps opening me up and investing so whatever. Learn friend lives at home. Nope, not for me. Bounce!

Walk into a 3rd 5 set with a female friend of mine in it. She wings for me like crazy to this older and non-attractive girl. Roll with it for a little but then here comes this cute as shit eastern European girl. Its on. Oh no, AFC from earlier joins us. Damn! Start focusing on her, body language the rest of the group out so I don't have to deal with them. Hooking nice. She starts investing with questions about me. Kino a little. We have mutual interests so things are easy. Friend from first of the night informs me that people are bouncing to another bar. Eastern European girl makes sure I'm going. Easy easy!

now things get interesting...

Go to get my coat and while I'm putting my coat on this nice alternative looking girl opens me up. Seems cool but a little "off". Not really my type but lets go! She brings up that she is a erotic photographer. I start telling her about how modern porn is dumb because of viagra and she shit tests me with "oh wow, thats some liquid courage, talking about sex" so I up the ante hardcore. Start talking about porn and masturbation. Ask her friends how often they masturbate, totally going into self amusement mode now. She is nonplussed and laughing, more shit tests about me being drunk. More talk about sex and passion. One memorable quote: "See girls like you that wear leopard print scarfs are always crazy in bed, I can just imagine how sensual you are" more conversation ensues, she tries to determine my sexuality from my scarf.

And then. And then... I just loose the set somehow. Try and plow, nope. Change the topic. Nope. I don't know. Girl was into it and then turned off. Don't know what happened. Maybe too far with sex. I thought it was fun and I barely took it that much past R rated. Happens.

Bounce to other bar. Eastern european shows us with a group she is with. They try and get a table and its going to be a while. I move the group to the bar by leading them there. She talks to another guy she is with so I open the group next to me. She pulls me back in, kino is executed and returned. In the middle of the set, surrounded by her friends I # close. ( ha silly_mallard! ;) ) Make her hold my beer while I punch in her digits ( compliance test ) and give her a silly last name. Now this is important, I don't leave right away. She compliments me on my smile, put my head in close to hers and start moving into her "space". Conversation goes out to the group a little but we are vibing ok still. I can literally feel the tension because I'm standing so close to her. Eyes are doing the triangle whenever I'm talking to her. Can almost feel her breathe. I eventually bail because I don't want to sit around and eat dinner with her friends ( such a boring drag ) and so I can leave on a high note.

When I'm leaving she says to the group something like "ge99 probably has three more parties to go to!".

When I'm walking towards the door she starts saying something and I'm too far away to hear. I motion for her to come over and claw her in. She says something in my ear like "make sure you say goodbye to Robert" right into my ear, I say I will into hers. Go in for the kiss. Denied and she walks off with a "oh god not this again" look. Ok.

Now after writing this FR I think I realized how the last two sets or interactions blew up. Almost positive I went a bit dancing monkey or too party bro cocky funny here... Pretty sure I went too "oh hai I'm a dude and I LIKE SEX HAHAHAHA" and not enough "hello, my name is bond, mr. bond, would you like to make love in the moonlight". No suave. Not enough class. Not smooth.

Went a bit outside my normal self here. Would take too long to punch in the details but I'm almost positive this is what happened. Was going fine until I fell into a stereotype for these girls. Whoops.

That's why we go out and approach right? Learn and learn. Adapt and adjust.
