Hi, first off: I'm a college freshman in my second term of uni, see my problem is I made probably 1 friend first term.

Now, let's clear things up: My social life back home (I go to college in canada, home is Bahamas) is pretty solid, I have a lot of friends, solid friends I can trust and I constantly make new ones (made 5 good ones this break actually).

Here's my problem: first term was rough, some family members had recently passed away, I was alone dealing with these issues in a new environment (been to Canada like once before) with nobody I knew before, also got into a pretty bad car accident in the summer and had to do some muscle therapy for internal damage (no lasting scars or anything). Basically, I wasn't interested in social life as I had to sort things out and balance school + gym + therapy.

Now, I got over my issues about december, I was new and improved for xmas break, I made more friends, people noticed I was much more confident / looked better too, people tell me I'm about an 8 strong/8.5, as I discovered seddit during my first term and realized there is no shortcut to girls/social interactions, it's just using the principles to improve and to grow more confident etc.

But despite this, I have serious AA. I feel like I missed out you know? People have their groups, their friends, they've obviously seen me in class/caf as this quiet guy with probably no friends, and now that I'm ready, I still can't bring myself to just go up to them and make friends, that first month of college where everybody is excited to meet new people, that same energy just isn't there anymore, it's not as easy.

I think the main problem is the absolute lack of social proof, back home I did this to strangers because I knew either way I still had my awesome friends, and it made it easier for the same reason. I'm starting at 0...I'm young, not too much life experience so I'm just asking people who do, what should I do? This is the first weekend of the new term, and I really don't want to stay home alone, or even worse go out and end up alone all night.

Thanks :)
