This is what I thought it might have meant:

"I think you're pretty cool" = I am attracted to you

"but you're acting too cool" = So just take me home. No need to have an after party. No need to demonstrate your value with hosting all my friends at an after party.

Might not be quite right, but that was my first impression.

Dude, I had a girl say pretty much the EXACT SAME THING to me two weeks ago. She told me I was quite possibly the "smoothest" guy she's ever met in her life and that she's madly attracted, but I was "too" smooth and it didn't seem completely natural. I've since made a few changes that show a little tiny bit of vulnerability and humility. I think being overly confident all the time doesn't necessarily maximize attraction.

It sounds like you didn't really try to get to know her or her friends much at all, aka she preemptively stopped her friends from cockblocking you.

I meet a lot of 'nerdy/intellectual' women who are attracted to the 'dorky' types and sometimes fail to realize some guys can still be smart but fit, sexy and suave. So instead of realizing that you can be both they instead take the easier route of just putting you in either one of the categories. The category they want to put you in is the 'dorky/smart' category so when I detect this I turn on my intellectual prowess until I get myself put in the new bucket which is a merger of the two. Those kind of girls despise 'players', still like them but also hate them at the same time if you know what I'm talking about

Well you already said you were leaving. So write your number down, give it to her and say "you know where ill be at" and leave. If she wasn't going to go with you then shell stay there and maybe she'll call that hot guy from the bar. Best case, she jumps up and goes back with you.
