You WERE dealing in social game....basically trading on your status. Hell half the girls in HS likely wanted to fuck you because of your relationship or they knew that they could flirt and pretend to be into you because you were not actually going to require them to get naked and ride your dick.

In college, you are a NOBODY until you build your social status again.

Which is one of the pitfalls of social game? It isn't easily transferable to the world at large without the effort to build the social network. There are tons of dudes who slay their small social group of girls because the girls are competing to fuck one of guys the little group has decided is one of the "cool dudes" but who couldn't get any interest on vacation or internships or anywhere outside that group.

Better to work on being yoked and lookmaxed then combine social game into the mix but don't completely rely on social game to slay because if they don't know you socially they aren't going to be into you.

Maybe it's because they're focusing on college? Like of all the fucking comments here, not one has even suggested the possibility that college itself is a factor in decreasing your chances of "getting laid". In high school, everyone is forced to be there and will gladly get out of classes when the chance appears. But college? They're there because of an actual interest to learn for some future career plus they're paying money for it.
