So, I've been reading seddit for about 3 months now... the stuff I've learned here helped me get a few dates, lose my virginity, all that stuff, so I wanted to finally post a FR, nothing too crazy. This FR is all about confidence.

I went out to a restaurant tonight with my best friend (we go every Wednesday to this bar/restaurant across the street from my apartment). Our waitress is a HB7, but I'm just enjoying good conversation with my friend, not really paying attention to her outside of ordering (I make a joke about the number of options they have).

Our food gets there, and my friend isn't into his at all. It was too spicy or something, so he's kind of picking at it, but I finish my plate and HB7 comes to give us our checks, and it looks like he hasn't touched his plate. The conversation in its entirety:

HB7: Is everything good?

Friend: Well... I mean, I didn't really enjoy my food. That's not yall's fault though... it's too spicy for me... I really just ordered the wrong thing, I don't want yall to, like, do anything about it, it's fine...

HB7: Oh? Is there something I can do or get for you?

Me (seeing the opening): Yes. What my friend really want to get from you is your phone number.

(they're both taken a little aback).

HB7 (looks at us): Well... if he wants my phone number, then he has to ask for it.

Friend: shocked, starts muttering something about not really wanting her phone number

Me (tons of eye contact here): Hell, if he doesn't want your phone number, then I want your phone number.

HB7: laughs Do you really want my phone number?

Me: If you really want to give it to me. (I probably could have said something better here. I was thinking in retrospect that something along the lines of "Oh, do I look like I'm joking =) " , "Is the Pope Catholic?", or "Does a bear poop in the woods?", but I haven't fully evaluated it yet)

HB7 smiles and walks away, brings back our checks. I keep smiling. My friend is a little floored I had the guts to blatantly ask for her number like that. When she comes back with the receipts a second time (payed with a credit card), my receipt has her phone number on it. # close.

Outside of my order, I said a grand total of 3 lines to her, but I said them with the right posture, eye contact, and tone. This was only the 2nd time I've # closed, and really, this is a lot easier than I thought it would be... it's just getting the confidence and taking a risk.
