Hello! A friend turned me on to this subreddit today, and I have to say I have been very fascinated.

I would, however, like to offer a different perspective... if anyone would be interested in listening. Just as a bit of background... I am familiar with David Deangelo, having read a lot of what he wrote waaay back in the day. I also attempted to read The Game, but could not make it through.

Throughout my life I have developed what I deem to be very polished social skills, by necessity. As a kid I moved almost every year of my life (non military, so it was a different American sub-culture each time), and had to learn everything through hard knocks. This eventually led to a very successful social life in dating, friendship and just about any situation I find myself in!

I may be breaking the rules by saying this, but I don't think that all the advice in here is always the healthiest approach to romance. I would like to encourage anyone reading this to treat everyone, regardless of their gender, as a full-fledged human being and not as a game. The superficial aspects of dating can leave people feeling even more isolated than being single.

Empathy is by far the best asset you have in relating to others, and in my short time here, I am afraid that it seems to be lacking in certain threads.

Before I get banned though, I want to say that a lot of the content seems to be an excellent way to learn to be comfortable with one's self, and I look forward to reading and learning more. However, if anyone feels like perhaps they are looking for a different approach to having a successful social life... I would be more than happy to use my experience to point you in the right direction. I honestly believe that we all can find what we are looking for without sacrificing our unique traits, shyness and introversion included!

Good luck everyone, I am looking forward to participating in your community and hopefully contributing a lot!
