So after going out the last two nights and pushing myself I opened a lot more sets than I normally would have. Noticed a couple things, though. One is that I find bar noise interferes with me a lot more than I thought it would. A couple sets that were going pretty decent got derailed by the fact that I just couldn't hear the girl half the time. Obviously this lets you do the nice 'I can't hear you' hand on the small of the back and pull in, but you can't be doing that every other sentence. Thoughts?
Other thing is something I'm pretty sure I know the answer to, but my brain keeps hitching me on it. Is it cool to basically stare at a girl until she notices you and then lock eye contact? Not something that's worked out poorly for me yet, but I find I'm a lot more likely to reactively look away once the girls looks back if I've already been checking her out. Actually, now that I'm typing this out I'm starting to think that's an old lack-of-value thing that's not totally gone yet.
One last thing. After my first night out I was watching some RSD and saw Tyler talking about this trick. Tried it out on the second night and it was weird. Felt like the conversation kept drying up and I wasn't playing to my strengths of witty little comments and shit. The sets without it were better. Anyone else had a shot at that?
