Long story short:

Met this really shy girl two years ago. Never saw her since then, but discovered she was attracted to me in the meanwhile. This summer we were together for a week. We got along, had sex and spent 4 nights together, she wanted to. She left, we live far away but she said she wanted to meet me in the meanwhile. Since then we texted (she texts very rarely and short), she showed interest but it seems it has kinda faded a bit. I tried to get together, saying things like "you and me. tomorrow. here, let's do this "..." and that"..." but she always says she can't and asks how am I doing.

For a week I didn't talk to her, yesterday I sent a quirky text, and then asked her to hang out this weekend. Again she says "I think I can't, I'll be busy with academic stuff and what not. how are you?" Now, I'm sick of this. She has expressed interest in me, but the extreme shyness, reduced communication (she's like that even with close friends) and no real dates take a toll on my patience.

How do I answer this so I can leave the ball in her court and let it go? Is it a no-no to ask if she doesn't want to or if there's a reason for the seemingly lack of interest, without looking like I care? I believe she can also think I only want to get with her for the sex, which really isn't true. Normally I wouldn't care about any of this, but this girl is stunning and is really chill, kinda how I like'em.
