Hi everyone.
I've been reading and doing this shit properly for about 6 months now, I knew of the community about a year ago but I was never very proactive in following the advise back then.
I've always been a weird kid and I've never many friends. A few years ago I decided to change that and be more social. I started going out and made a few more friends. I still wasn't happy though, I still suffered from social anxiety and always felt awkward and out of place when around other people. I really wanted girls in my life too. I'm not a one night stand kinda guy, I wanted to make real connections with girls that I wanted to be with not just whoever wanted me.
When I found the community I thought this was my chance, I could be who I wanted to be. After a while I started trying to implement what I was reading into my daily life and it really worked. I used to feel awkward just standing up right, I thought maybe my feet were to close together or my arms were hanging weird. Quickly, in about two months this disappeared, I didn't feel awkward anymore, I felt happy to talk to people and I didn't care what people thought of me.
Right now I'm going out 3-4 nights a week with other guys in the community and I'm beginning to notice something. I'm not really getting any better results then when I started. I look back to what I did 4 months ago and I can see that I'm more confident, a better talker and just better all round with girls but my results are very similar. It seems to me that if a girls interested then she's interested, if she's not she's probably not. A perfect example of this was a girl I met the other night at a club. I was chatting to her flat mate and he told me they all had challenges and hers was to kiss 5 guys but she wasn't doing too well. I went up to her and said something like, "hey, heard you need some help with your challenge" and started making out with her. After she said she thought I was hot and we started chatting. We spent the rest of the tonight together and met up a couple of days after too. My point is here is that she was attracted when she first saw me, it wasn't really anything to do with what I said or did after that.
Last night I spoke to a girl who was easily a 9, she was laughing and being friendly so I started to escalate a little but she wasn't interested at all. This happens to me a lot. I get this sense that within the first 10 seconds of the interaction they've decide whether they're interested or not. Everything I do after that 10 seconds is pointless.
This is why I don't think I'm making much progress at the moment. My improved conversation skills and escalation techniques only work if she's interested other wise they're pointless and if she's interested I probably don't really need them. This has really been annoying me lately because it feels like a lot of seduction really does have to do with looks. I'm not too bad looking I'd say I'm a 7 but objectively I'm guessing I'm a 6. This reflects exactly to the type of girls I can get. Generally if they below 7 I have a pretty good chance, if they're a 7 it's 50-50 if they're higher it's unlikely.
What's your thoughts on this? Do you think that first 10 seconds is as important as I'm suggesting? If so should we focus more on how to make the best first impression instead of what follows? I know we don't like to believe success in this field is mostly based on looks but is it?
