So yeah, this my response post to that god awful "text-game" post that hit top yesterday. I took a full day to ruminate on my response because I didn't want to come off as a raging internet douche on one of my favorite subs. Plus, I was so certain that guy was a troll that I didn't know if it was worth the time.

Here are 5 Reasons You Shouldn’t Try to “Build Attraction” Over Text, Email, or Chat:

1) If you’re not already a confident, ladykiller type, you will over-analyze all texts, chats, and emails.

Think about it. Are you texting because you know that you're gonna meet up and give this girl the time of her life, or because you're afraid to make a clear move?

If you're afraid to make a clear move, I'll bet you're the kind of guy who also posts questions like "what does it mean when she says 'okay' and like, nothing else?"

2) If you see a woman constantly texting no matter what’s going on around her, she is very likely bored, and/or a boring person.

Do you really want to be hanging out with this woman? If you're the male equivalent, do you think texting is what's gonna get a woman to like you?

3) Good rapport over text comes primarily from good rapport in person.

Here's the simplest way to be awesome over text: BE AWESOME IN PERSON.

If you're awesome in person, you can literally text the girl about how big of a shit you just took after lunch and she'll giggle her ass off.

You do not prove how cool you are over email, cuz.

4) Texting a woman is not a good gauge of her interest.

You've got nothing to go off of except for emoticons and barely enough text to form coherent sentences. No body language, no tone, nothing.

So, how the hell are you supposed to know you're making progress when you're voluntarily blinding yourself by communicating over text?

5) Even if you text “well,” it doesn’t build physical comfort or get you anywhere romantically with the girl.

And here's the nail in the coffin. You spend all your time building rapport over text that when she's finally ready to jump on the D train to Sexyville... she's not even in the same room as you.

Congratulations on the colossal waste of time.
