About your grain of salt, I don't think there's any sociopath behaviour in what you claim here, true egocentrism works, Lincoln put it beautifully in saying that you can't please everybody, so don't try. People call me an asshole all the time. They still chill with me, ask me to hang out with them etc. They laugh about me being an asshole with me. I am not an asshole. I am honest. I do what I want and if I don't want to I am honest about it. Most people don't like it but respect it and usually I do like doing stuff they like so it usually works out.

But yeah just a heads up. People may think you're an asshole. Don't give a shit, or pretend not to.

as a njice guy that never wants to step on toes or get out of the comfort zone, this article is great encouragement. Recently i met a guy that totally has the niceguy/asshole thing down, and it works SOOO well. Iv been using his examples as motivation. Combined with this article i think i will be in the right mind state soon.

I found out that once i started doing this my standings with girls went up dramatically. But at the same time my male friends did not appreciate it at all. Maybe because i was beginning to gain a bit of female attention? Anyway that was a long time ago and i'm now happy married, but i intend to pass along this helpful information to my son when he's old enough.
