I'm from Toronto. My tip: Just have fun, Toronto is one of the hardest places to pick up in North America (pick up was born here), but hey, if you're having fun, none of that should matter.

IMO any time you're travelling abroad and looking to meet girls you immediately have two advantages which stem from the novelty factor you embody by not being a local.

A.) you're not from the same place as the people you're meeting, and therefore there are a multitude of openings available to you that you don't have if you're a local. You can open by starting a conversation with a group about cool places to go in the city/area, whether there are any other bars/clubs that are open, fuck, I've even opened with 'I'm not from [place], you guys look like fun, mind if I join?' You also won't (or shouldn't) have any social anxiety about being alone, because you're travelling and that's expected to some degree.

B.) because you're not a local, you have an entirely different set of references and conversations, previous travel stories etc from which to select as conversational topics. While I think this is more relevant if you're running game on other travellers who are in some way sharing the same experiences as you, I still think it applies to running game on locals.

Once you've built a sense of familiarity with a group by simply being that friendly, funny, slightly confused foreigner, then you can work on building attraction with your target, thereby avoiding some of the pitfalls that arise from differences in approach etiquette.

I live 4 hours south of GTA (Windsor) and I've met lots of girls at bars and such who have been travelling to the city just for the weekend, and believe it or not they were much easier to pick up then the locals.

Also from my experience if they are into you, they will let you know very obviously. This is just in relation to locals again.

I live in TO. I can't really say by I haven't noticed much of a difference, but from what I've read it's harder compared to other places. One thing I notice is eye contact is not the norm here, it's almost seen as aggressive/weird by some girls. Be confident and you'll be cool. Once theyre receptive youre in. I'm away end of march but if you're here after April 1st ill kick it with you guys. I'm 26. Otherwise pm me if you have any questions.
