Hey everyone! This might not be the place, as it's less seduction related, and more self-improvement slated. So sorry :D

Last night I began reading No More Mr. Nice Guy! by Robert Glover. Some of you might be familiar with it-- I came upon these passages.

Nice Guys are givers. Nice Guys frequently state that it makes them feel good to give to others. These men believe their generosity is a sign of how good they are and will make other people love and appreciate them.

and

Nice Guys give to get . Though Nice Guys tend to be generous givers, their giving often has unconscious and unspoken strings attached. They want to be appreciated, they want some kind of reciprocation, they want someone to stop being angry at them, etc. Nice Guys often report feeling frustrated or resentful as a result of giving so much while seemingly getting so little in return.

I'm not entirely sure how to interpret this, and take it into my own life. On one side, I love giving to people. I'm learning (and hopefully getting quite good at!) being a value-giver and creating joy in others. Yet sometimes, when I do things for other people, I will admit that I want to be appreciated, want reciprocation...etc.

Where does one draw the line between generating value and joy and having ulterior motives or seeking approval?

How do you all interpret these passages?
