This is FR worthy in itself because even though she was acting through a middle man, you broke through it and took back the lead on the interaction. It is the equivalent to a girl's friends coming over to you in a bar and handing you a number. You don't say thanks and walk away, you ask where she is and why she didn't do it herself (then approach)! What you did here was freaking brilliant and I applaud it cause you took back the lead by getting really creative. Touché.

But I planned in advance and got a 'congratulations' card at the dollar store. I handed it to her in an envelope and gave it to her.

Ballsy as fuck, and honestly I see it as being overly risky for just hanging out with a friends, friend. Too much pre-medititation isn't necessarily a good thing cause it shows some neediness. If your frame wasn't rock solid confident, this could have been the ball game. Why did you choose to do this and where/ how did you come up with / find the original idea, etc.? Regardless, looked like it worked. Pretty impressive stuff man.

I'm currently imagining walking into a card section at Walmart and seeing 50 some odd guys fighting over generic congratulations cards to hand out randomly on the street later lol.
