Ill find a friend to introduce to her, say "Hey! this is my friend Blah" and when she introduces herself I listen closely lol

I try to use there names in sentences. Not only does the repetition help with remembering her name, but hearing your name spoken isn't something that happens often and could actually be considered somewhat flattering.

I'm going to sound like a dick here and get downvoted, but if you forget her name, you're not paying attention. That's at least how David Wygant puts it.

If you can't remember her name, you're going to have a hard time remembering fine details (oh, did she say she was a nurse or a nurse assistant? Is she from Philidelphia or Portand?) Seriously, remembering her name is a rookie mistake that can easily be fixed.

When she introduces herself, repeat the name back. This helps a LOT. By repeating things back and offering feedback, it forces you to pay attention and remember. Offering a response over "uh huh cool" does just that.

Or you could just remember their names.

I always repeat each name after the introduction, then after I've gotten all of their names (even if it's 5 or 6) repeat them back in descending order to show you actually care about remembering.

Step two is to mentally say her name every time you look at her until there's no chance of forgetting. I've been doing this for a long time and never forget anyone's name anymore. Because most people are bad with names, it sets you apart from the rest.

A common technique to know it without looking like a dumbass is to subtly get it when you take her number. Either you give her the phone and tell her to complete the infos (including her name), or you ask : "What's your name?" and then say "No, I meant your family name. It's because I have multiple [hername]s in my contacts"

Or else you just tell her you forgot her name.

Another Tip: ask her name. when she gives her first name say "No i meant your LAST name! i remember/know the first one!

I am horrible with names and I am just open and honest about it. I have never had any problems.

If I am in a conversation with her and interested, mid way I'll ask, "What is your name again? I am horrible with names but I want to remember yours."

They'll pretend to be offended but flattered that I find them interesting.

I just say "I'm sorry, I forgot your name. What is it?"

I may be late to the party, but what I've always done is:

Me: "Sorry, I can't quite remember your name." HB8: "It's HB" Me: "Haha no, *cheeky smirk* I meant your surname!" HB8: "Oh... that's 8"

You shouldn't lose face, and you get both names.

Seems good! I have huge problems remembering names just after introduction. I have more than once called a girl by the wrong name, but you can usually just joke it off and dont act like it's such a big deal!

Or, say something like " This is really embarrassing but i forgot your name." She'll reply "Emily." (an example) then you say "No i meant your last name." It's more socially acceptable to forgot a last name than a first name.
