This is the problem with analyzing a single photo of two world leaders: There are so many photos of each of them that it's easy to cherry-pick a photo where one looks more dominant. Here's a photo from the same day where Putin looks awkward and uptight. Profound geopolitical conclusions drawn from a single photo have a slim chance of being accurate.

Heartiste has some good points about posture and poise in this post.

But, let's be real: at no point should a photo of the leaders of two of the most powerful countries in the world be a reference for an AFC's budding one-up-manship.

Let's not confuse "looking like a beta in an inopportune photo" with "the president is a beta male." He absolutely is fucking not, and to make any sort of self-comparison with him (unless your name is Vladimir Putin) is, at best, completely self-delusional.

I don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, or whatever. But if "would I be able to take this guy in a fight" is what you're thinking when you're looking at the president, I don't think you're focused on what actually matters.
